Most Anticipated 2018 Releases

Hello everyone! I'm in the middle of finals this week and it's just been hectic at my university. But I still wanted to make time to post this because when I think about the books coming out in 2018, it makes me beyond excited! Even though these books aren't the only books I'm looking forward to reading, they are definitely the top ones I'm looking forward to. Here are the top 5 books that I can't wait to release in 2018.

5.) Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody: I didn't read her other book, Daughter of a Burning City, because to me it sounded like Caraval and I didn't want to read another book like that yet. This book, though, sounds like it's going to be very interesting. It has casinos in it, which I've never read in a young adult novel, and it seems like it's going to have a sneaky/secretive vibe to it that I usually like in novels. Besides, look at this gorgeous cover! That alone would make me want to read the book.

4.) Dread Nation by Justine Ireland: I wasn't too crazy about her other book, Promise of Shadows, but I think that this book sounds interesting since it's historical fiction with zombies. From this cover, I'm getting Michonne vibes from The Walking Dead and I loved that show! I'm beyond excited to read this book.

3.) Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi: The fact that this was optioned as a movie before it was even being published is what made me excited for this story. But after reading the summary, I was even more excited because it sounds like it's going to be dark and full of action. My two favorite combinations at the moment.

2.) Legendary by Stephanie Garber: The first book of this series was Caraval and I had mixed feelings on it. I loved the writing and how the world felt so magical. I especially loved Julian when I read it but that was about all I loved. Scarlett was kind of annoying and the plot wasn't what I was expecting it to be. Probably the only reason I really want to read this book is because of the cliffhanger at the end of the first book. Like, I just have to know what happens!
1.) The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton: This is definitely my most anticipated book release of 2018 because there's a story with a Black girl as the main character and there's royalty in the story. Black girls in stories are rare, in general, so seeing a Black girl in a fantasy novel with royalty is even rarer. I've been craving a story like this for the longest and now it' s finally here! I'm stoked!
