Manuscript Monday #2

Hello everyone! Ready for another fact? Okay here it goes. The idea for my entire series came from the picture to the side. I don't know how I got inspiration from this picture to think of an entire series but like most writers know, inspiration comes to you in some of the strangest ways. The funnier thing about this photo and my WIP is that it now has nothing to do with the series. When I first planned this series, this castle was the basis of it. Now it doesn't even exist in the story!

Did anything like that ever happen to y'all? I would love to hear the stories! Thanks for reading!

Waiting on Wednesday #2

This tag is hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine and I've always wanted to participate in it. Today I want to talk about One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake. This is the second book in the Three Dark Crowns series and even though I didn't enjoy the first book as much as I thought I would, the second book and the books to come are sure to make up for it.Summary: The battle for the Crown has begun, but which of the three sisters will prevail? With the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them and the Ascension Year underway, all bets are off. Katharine, once the weak and feeble sister, is stronger than ever before. Arsinoe, after discovering the truth about her powers, must figure out how to make her secret talent work in her favor without anyone finding out. And Mirabella, once thought to be the strongest sister of all and the certain Queen Crowned, faces attacks like never before—ones that put those around her in danger she can’t seem to prevent. In this enthralling sequ…

Manuscript Monday #1

Hello everyone! Today I decided that I'm going to try something that I saw on
Clever Fox's Youtube channel. She basically just talks about her current WIP and I thought that it would be pretty cool to do it. In these posts, I'm going to talk about interesting facts about my WIP rather than about the actual writing process of me writing the story. I'm going to try and do this every other Monday so that it continues to keep my interest in the story (I have a bad habit of quitting ideas because I think they aren't good enough and boring) Hopefully, it will also get you guys interested! For my first fun fact about my WIP, it's actually the prequel to the actual series I want to write later. It's told from the point of view of the main character's sister. The reason I decided to start with this? I was originally going to start with the actual series but Aaliyah's, the current name of the sister, story intrigues me a lot. The reason she intrigues me? Can&#…

Book Review: The Hate U Give

Summary: Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil's name. Some cops and the local drug lord try to intimidate Starr and her family. What everyone wants to know is: what really went down that night? And the only person alive who can answer that is Starr. But what Starr does or does not say could upend her community. It could also endanger her life.

Review: How do I even start? To put it simply, I absolutely loved this book with everything within me. It was everything I knew I wanted and everything that I didn't know I wanted. This boo…

Summer Quarter Goals

I know, I know. We can't keep doing this game where I disappear for a month and then come back saying that I'm going to do better. I'm really sorry, everyone. It's just been a stressful month where so many things have happened. My mental health has been suffering the last couple weeks and before that I had a lot of homework in Upward Bound. But I promise, I'm back now! Because of Upward Bound and my health problems, I didn't really get a lot accomplished for my Spring Quarter Goals. However, I completed two of them which I'm happy about. The first goal that I completed was outlining my WIP. I have the basic plot outline and I did the main character's outline but that's about it. I didn't want to plan too much about the entire story because I'm still trying to figure everything out. I'm still excited for the story even though I haven't worked on it in forever. The next goal that I completed is enjoying my summer! Since I'm in Up…
